Sam Presutti was born and raised just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. From a young age Sam has been a passionate angler. He started fly fishing as a teenager and has worked his entire career in the fly fishing industry. He has done everything from manage a fly shop to guide on remote rivers in Alaska. These days Sam is a Pro Staff/Field tester for top industry brands such as Thomas & Thomas Fly Rods Pro Staff, and Hatch Reels Pro Staff, spending half the year guiding on Tennessee’s South Holston River and the other part of the year guiding his home waters in Pennsylvania for Steelhead, Trout, Musky, and Smallmouth Bass.
If you are fishing with Sam you can guarantee that you will be with not only someone who consistently put you on fish, but also someone who prides themselves on making sure people leave as a better angler. Many of Sam’s clients will tell you first hand you won’t find a more passionate or hard working guide… he has a relentless ambition to provide the most productive day possible. When not on the water Sam is also a passionate weight lifter, bbq enthusiast and avid bourbon collector. He also loves to travel and spend time with his lovely wife Geneva and their 3 children…
Preston Vance grew up in East Tennessee fishing in the tailwaters of Watauga and South Holston. He found himself getting bored on a bank with worms and knew something was missing. Then he discovered fly fishing.
Fly fishing quickly became a passion that consumed Preston’s every waking moment. He started learning about the craft, networking, and finding better ways to catch the fish. This hunger and passion fueled Preston to teach others about the art of fly fishing.
Now as a seasoned fly fishing guide Preston is simply one of the best in the region. He is what we consider the whole package, a patient and informative teacher, a fun time on the water, and a stellar angler who can catch fish in all conditions!
